Around Pucallpa

In the course of the Federico Basadre road between Tingo Maria and Pucallpa areas of outstanding natural beauty such as Boqueron del Padre Abad (183 Km. Since Pucallpa) a narrow canyon with breathtaking waterfalls, and near this point the falls are located are located the Veil and Shower Devil. Near the district Masisea area Imiria Regional Conservation (135 hectares) for the conservation of its rich biodiversity is located. In the department of Ucayali protected natural areas such as the Alto Purus National Park, Blue Mountains National Park, El Sira Communal Reserves and Purus are also located.


Aguaytía A 161 km from Pucallpa by Federico Basadre road. It has two suspension bridges 800 meters long that cross the river Aguaytía. One of them was built between 1939-1942 and both are considered the longest in the Peru. From a modern boardwalk you can observe typical boats that arrive and depart to various native communities Cacataibo Shipibo and ethnicities - Conibo. The natural landscapes are typical of the jungle, mountainous nature, with deep narrow valleys with steep slopes; far away a section of the Blue Mountains can be seen.


Boqueron del Padre Abad A 183 km from Pucallpa (4 hours by bus) or 22 km from the town of Aguaytía (20 minutes drive). Located in the Blue Mountains (so named for the color offered by far) and is the only step Yuracyacu eroded by the river, a tributary of river Aguaytía, featuring rock walls over 100 meters. Along this corridor 2 miles long about 70 drops of clear, cold water is observed; the most plentiful are the Bridal Veil and Shower Devil. It is possible to see paintings in some rocks and cloud forests are home to a rich biodiversity. El Boqueron was discovered in 1757 by Father Francisco Alonso Abad and facilitated the construction of the Federico Basadre road.
