Transports and Communications - Cusco

Coming by plane to Peru, first we recommend you to arrive to Lima. Then you can get your connection to Cusco by plane or bus.

National Flights

From Cusco normally you may find daily flights to Lima (approximate flight time, 55 minutes). There are also flights from/to Arequipa, Juliaca (Puno), Puerto Maldonado and Ayacucho.

         
Terrestrial Way

From the city of Cusco starts a highway that goes through the south of the country reaching Puno and Arequipa, where it connects to the Pan-American Highway.

  • Highway Cusco-Puno: Lap Cusco Juliaca 345 kms. (214.4 miles); Lap Juliaca Puno 44 kms. (27.3 miles); the highest point of this highway reaches the 4,313 meters above sea level (14,150 feet).
  • Highway Cusco Arequipa: Passing through Juliaca, 625 kms. (388 miles).
