Built completely of stone, mud bricks and thatch roofs, Colca Lodge is
located in the heart of the Valley, next to the Colca River, in the midst of
ancestral farming terraces.
With a particular architectonic style inspired in the ancient Inca buildings,
Colca Lodge has been able to combine its attractive rustic style with total
comfort without damaging the surrounding environment.
Either as a family destination geared towards total relaxation or as a
strategic base to explore the region, The Colca Lodge has a hidden charm for
each guest.
A special hotel where you will be able to see the enigmatic Andean way of
life, discover the Inca’s past and experience the feeling of being in a magic
place.
Attention at Colca Lodge is tailored to your needs. Our personalized service
and the relaxed atmosphere of our facilities will make your visit a memorable
experience. All of our rooms have private bathroom, heating, hot water (with
solar heating systems) and an outdoor terrace with breathtaking views.
The hotel does not have television, telephones or other modern distractions.
Our rates include a buffet breakfast. We offer as well restaurant services for
lunch and dinner. For your moments of relaxation, The Colca Lodge has a spacious
living room with a fireplace, a charming bar and a game room (attic) with an
assortment of table games for your amusement.
Hot Springs:
Designed and built with the explicit purpose of not interfering with the
natural environment, Colca Lodge’s thermal springs obtain their water (80 C)
from volcanic sources and conduce them, through a mini canal system, similar to
those employed by the Collaguas, to picturesque stone pools.
Our less adventurous guests can choose one of the short walks from the hotel
to the ruins of an ancient Collagua settlement, Uyo Uyo, or to the
archaeological
zone of Chininea. The Colca Valley is also a privileged area for adventure
sports like mountain biking, mountain climbing and professional white water
rafting down in the Canyon.
Those interested in the history and sociological aspects of the region can
organize their visit around the area’s abundant Pre-Inca ruins or to the 16
surrounding villages of Spanish origin, each one with a splendid colonial church.
