Upon your arrival at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, you
will be driven to the selected hotel.
In the afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the
Historical Center of
Lima, one of the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Sites. You will see its
famous balconies,
large colonial houses, and the
Plaza Mayor (the Main Square), which is surrounded by the Government's
Palace (the Presidential Palace), the Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace and
the Club de la Union. Nearby you can see religious monuments as the
San Francisco Church and the church dedicated
to San Francisco, also Cultural World Heritage Site.
Then, continue onto modern Lima, with its well kept parks, squares,
avenues and residential neighborhoods such as
San Isidro with
its orchard of Olive trees and Miraflores with
a great view to the Pacific Ocean. One thing you will notice in the more
affluent neighborhoods is that each house has been individually designed to
the unique tastes of its owner. In the very exclusive areas of Lima, you can
find houses that even surpass those found in Hollywood.
At proper time, transfer to the airport, to take your flight to Cuzco.
Arrival in Cuzco, where you will be met at Cuzco Airport and immediately
transferred to your hotel in the ancient Inca Royal City of Cuzco.
You have the morning free to get used to the altitude.
In the afternoon, you will take a guided tour to the
Historical Center
of Cuzco City (World Heritage Site by UNESCO), visiting the
Main Square, the Cuzco Cathedral, the Temple of
the Koricancha (a temple of colonial
architecture constructed over an Inca temple).
After a hearty breakfast, you are transferred to the San Pedro train
station to start the train journey to see the famous "Lost City of the
Incas," the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (World Heritage Site by
UNESCO - The New 7 Wonders of the World).
You arrive at Machu Picchu Town train station where you will board a bus
that will take you to the ruins.
Enjoy a guided tour through the Citadel and then a wonderful lunch.
In the afternoon, you return to Cuzco by train, where upon arrival you
are transferred to your hotel.
