At 6:00 AM we'll pick you up from your selected hotel.
We'll leave by our private transport to Mollepata 2800 meters, beautiful
scenic journey through Limatambo, stopping for panoramic views of the
Apurimac Valley, where you can have a breakfast in a typical restaurant.
After that we'll drive for 1hr until our trailhead called Sayllapata
(3200 meters), there we'll meet our arrieros “horsemen“ and trek staff, 2
1/2 hrs hiking through traditional Andean communities like Cruzpata,
Challacancha , unspoiled Andean villages to Soraypampa (3750 meters), where
we'll have the lunch.
Then after 4 hours we’ll arrive to our first campsite, Soyrococha
( 4 200 meters).
DAY 2: SOYROCOCHA / HUAYRAQMACHAY / COLLPAPAMPA (B-L-D)
The second day we'll ascent to the highest point of our trek, Salkantay
Pass 4600 meters from this point we can appreciate the special views of the
Mountain Salkantay, a stunning snow capped mountain (6271 meters),
3 hours walking with spectacular views of the mountains Humantay and
Huayanay, small lakes and morraines arriving to our lunch site,
Huayraqmachay ( 3700meters), then we'll go down for 3 1/2 hrs until our
second campsite, Collpapampa ( 2600 meters).
DAY 3: COLLPAPAMPA / PLAYA / SANTA TERESA (B-L-D)
The third day, the group will walk for 4 hrs, downhill easy hike
We will be introduced to a high Jungle niche called Ceja de Selva where
coffee, coca and fruits plantations can be observed, time to shower in a
waterfall, take amazing pictures, with luck we can observe the famous
Peruvian National Bird " Gallito de las Rocas "
Stop in Playa (2250 meters) for lunch
Then we take a local transportation for 45 minutes until Santa Teresa,
where we have our third campsite.
DAY 4: SANTA TERESA / HIDROELECTRICA / AGUAS CALIENTES. (B-L-D)
After breakfast , we will cross the river and then walk to
Hidroelectrica Train station (Km 116), where we have our last camping lunch.
Then continue walking for two and a half more hours to Aguas Calientes
(2 000 meters).
Early wake up in order to take the bus to the Citadel of Machu Picchu
Gguided tour for 2 hours and plenty of free time to explore mor
Optional time to climb the mountain Huayna Picchu, Temple of the Moon,
or the Sun gate
After that you have to take the bus to go down to Aguas Calientes
Wwait for the train to return
Arrive in Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

EXTRA INFO:
Unless you hire an extra porter you need to carry your back pack, sleeping bag and the mattress.

Porter to carry up to 20 Kg = US$35 for the 3 days trekking. Regarding porters who carry personal items. You will need to carry with you a daypack with your Camera, water bottle, snacks, a fleece or something warm and a poncho in case of rain (unlikely in Dry season but as a precaution) and anything you will need before lunch as porters do not walk alongside you. You will meet up with your bag at lunch and then it will be waiting for you in your tent at campsites. Best to put everything up to 20kgs in one backpack for the porter so that you don´t have 2 large backpacks in your tent.
Take extra money (If you don´t want the buffet provided in Aguas Calientes),
the bus down from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes, but we walk down the trail so it is optional and options such as Hot Springs (5 soles), extra overnight in Aguas Calientes if you choose, tips etc.
You need to Take at least 100.00 soles emergency money that you hope to come back to
Cuzco
with!!! Note: there are no ATM´s in Aguas Calientes and extra commission on Travellers Checks.
Water: We suggest you take a 1½ litre bottle of water on the first day and then you can refill this on the trek. We boil water each night which is available after breakfast each morning for your water bottles. We still suggest you take water purification tablets or filters for any unboiled water you take directly from streams or waterfalls etc.
