This stay is advised to healthy persons. Considering that the concept of the community tourism consists in sharing the conditions of real life of the native communities in the jungle.

During your stay, you will be welcomed in Wilder and Jessica Fasabi’s house. You will enjoy their sympathy and incomparable hospitality as soon as you arrive in the village of Canaan on the Rio Tahuayo, a river of black waters, tributary to the Amazon. You will also meet their four children. Your nights will be lulled by the sounds of the jungle. Wilder will also be your guide. He will share with you his vast knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Amazon, the use of medicinal plants that his father transmitted to him and tropical agriculture. The activities will be adapted according to your interests. There are many possibilities for excursions around the village of Canaan. You will find clear water rivers and streams among sublime landscapes, observe many species of birds and attend to breathtaking sunsets.

Day 1: In the morning, Wilder will pick you up in your hotel or in other meeting place. You will take a boat called a “rapido” to go to Canaan (one way trip 2 hours). At your arrival, you will walk for 10 minutes to arrive at Wilder’s terrain, a quiet place, out of the community inside the jungle. There, you will settle in your new home for the time of your stay, a lovely and rustic wooden decorated house equipped with mosquito nets.

Day 2 and day 3: You will organize the program with your guide according to your interests. these are the different activities: 

- Discovery of medicinal plants, fauna and
flora of the Amazon
- Trekking in the jungle
- Fishing (rod or harpoon)
- Swimming in the rivers
- Intercultural exchange with the community
- Night camps in the jungle in remote areas
- Canoe
- Participation to the field working
- Visit of neighboring communities
- Handcraft activities

 

Day 4: In the morning, you will have the choice to do a last activity with your guide. Then back to Iquitos with the
« rapido » boat. You will arrive at Iquitos around 3 p.m.
