VISIT ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD!!!
Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machu Picchu, Trekking.
Day 1: Arrive Lima
We'll welcome you off your flight into Lima and help you check-in and depart for your onward flight to Cuzco. Airport greeting in Cuzco with transport to your hotel. Enjoy the afternoon to rest, recover and acclimate.
Day 2: Sacred Valley Tour
Embark on a tailored cultural, archeological and physical exploration of the Sacred Valley - visiting and hiking through the major ruins and agrarian villages of the valley. You'll be traveling between sites during the day with a guide/driver via private vehicle, so the "tour" is really quite flexible and will give you a good feel for the geography and the environment of the Sacred Valley.
Days 3 - 5: Trek The Inca Trail or Salkantay Route
Our 4n/3d Inca Trail or Salkantay Hikes traverse above the Sacred Valley for three magical days in the Andean wilderness before emerging at the Sun Gate of Machu Picchu on the fourth and final morning of your journey. Along your hike, you'll experience the transition between the dry, Andes environments of the upper Andes and the dense, mountainous Jungle that sheltered the lost Incan city of Machu Picchu for so many years. The Inca Trail is more of an archeological experience than it is a Wilderness Trek; throughout the hike, we'll be passing through and camping amongst the remnants of ancient Incas cities, a wonderful preview of pre-columbian life before our culminating descent to the Machu Picchu citadel at the end of our hike. In contrast, the renowned Salkantay Trek is a more scenic experience, with fewer crowds, but also fewer archeological Incas sites.
NOTE: The Inca Trail also camps on the last night of the journey while the Salkantay Trek stays in the village of Machupicchu town (former Aguas Calientes) the last night of your experience before visiting Machu Picchu.)
Day 6: Conclude Your Trek at Machu Picchu
From the Inca trek or Salkantay trek, you'll able to be among the first to arrive at the beginning of the day to the Machu Picchu site, enjoying the full day at the citadel before catching the evening train back to Cuzco for transport to your hotel.
Day 7: Mountain Biking, Whitewater Rafting or Paragliding Adventure (your choice).
Pedal, paddle or fly the earth, waters or sky of the Sacred Valley. Choose between a culminating day whitewater rafting, mountain biking or paragliding the magnificent environments of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Day 8: Lima and Departure
Departing Cusco in the morning, you'll take a flight out of the Andes and back to Lima, where you'll be greeted at the airport and taken to Miraflores, Costa Verde ("Green Coast") for the afternoon to explore Miraflores, visit the oceanfront Larcomar Mall and generally soak-in the most culturally, socially and economically active square mile in Peru. That evening we'll bring you back to the airport and get you safely on your return flight.
