Huagapo Cavern

Gruta de Huagapo is located at 3.572 meters in the District of Palcamayo.1 is considered one of the deepest in South America.

To be able to visit you can get by these two entrances or highways: is Lima (Capital of the Republic of the Peru), La Oroya and Tarma, Acobamba, Palcamayo Gruta de Guagapo. Another access is Lima, La Oroya, Condorin, San Pedro de Guagapo and boxes.
Grotto is situated on the Racasmarca Hill and the dimension of the input is of 18.90 meters high approximately by 33.50 meters wide, on the right side is a tunnel 100 metres to approximately where it empties its waters and these in turn are some endless waterfalls that seem to be a veil of a bride (being best views during February March and April).
Its name comes from two voices quechuas: Huaga and Apu, the first, means "tears"; the second,"powerful" thus forming: "tears of the powerful".
The mouth of the cave opening is 18.90 by 33.50 metres, inside has stalactites and stalagmites, in thousands of ways, like the lion Virgin and others as well as paintings of animals like a flame, taruka, guanaco, snake, worm and some hunting scenes. (wikipedia)
