Exploring Jungle

In its territory many areas of virgin forest with rich Amazonian flora and fauna are preserved, and is sparsely populated by native communities associated with river banks and lagoons. Normally matriarchal organizations engaged in fishing, hunting and agriculture. Communities near the city of Pucallpa also engaged in handicraft production and shamanism.

Near Pucallpa inhabit ancestral native Shipibo communities - Conibos.   Very close to the city tourists can get in touch with nature in Yarinacocha, a large lagoon formed by an ancient meander of the Ucayali River and around which various peoples of Shipibo communities like San Francisco are located, plus abundant flora and fauna of an Amazonian lagoon, ideal for bird watching, fishing, water sports and relaxation.

Pucallpa is a great opportunity and an excellent choice for those who want to escape for a moment from the forest of concrete and cement, infernal noise and pollution of big cities. It is also special for those who want to have a close encounter with paradisiacal places in the virgin forest of the Amazon, its native people and with no other noise other than the chirping of birds, monkeys and insects.
