Rainforest
Expeditions is
a Peruvian ecotourism company founded in 1992 with the purpose
of combining tourism a with
environmental education, research and local sustainable
development
to support the conservation of the areas where we operate,
the
Tambopata
Candamo Reserved Area.
Nature
is our passion, sharing it is our commitment. We build sanctuaries that host
unique experiences, engage local communities, and help hosts and guests learn to
value their relation with the Earth.
Posada
Amazonas Lodge
is a comfortable yet unobtrusive
30 bedroom lodge owned
jointly by Rainforest Expeditions and the Ese’eja Native
Community
of Tambopata. Thanks to its accessibility, excellent wildlife
observation opportunities, and first-class accommodations,
Posada Amazonas is the ideal short, economic, introductory
nature tour to Amazonian's richest rain forests.
Refugio
Amazonas Lodge is the latest
addition to Rainforest Expeditions Tambopata portfolio. As a charming 32 bedroom
lodge, it is well placed immediately adjacent to the Tambopata National Reserve.
Surrounded by a mosaic of waterways and habitats and a
worked Brazil Nut concession Refugio Amazonas presents an ideal balance for
naturalist exploration and observations of sustainable forest use by local
populations. In collaboration with ANIA an environmental education NGO, Refugio
Amazonas caters for families with children of all ages.
Tambopata
Research Center
is a simple but comfortable 18
bedroom lodge situated by the worlds largest
Macaw Claylick on the uninhabited frontier of the Tambopata National Reserve
and the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park.
Indeed as the founding venture of Rainforest Expeditions, it was established to
aid the protection of these magnificent birds and has a long-term research
project to ensure the survival of their populations. It is unrivalled in its
access to pristine Amazonian forests, having no neighbours, and due to its
distance from human populations requires a stopover in Refugio Amazonas.
